Welcome

Learning is a never-ending journey. I've learned much from my mentors, from the wise sages in my life. I feel it is important to share and pass along some of what I have learned – and continue to learn. I believe we are all responsible for smoothing the path for those who come after us. And I know that we are all connected and here to support one another.

My purpose is to:

  • Improve organizational effectiveness through individual development
  • Improve individual effectiveness through organizational development

Leadership Development

For several years, I have been focused on reading, writing, studying, and thinking about leadership. I have interviewed more than 40 thought leaders (authors and/or executive coaches) about the kinds of leaders needed for these uncertain times and how to best prepare people for the roles and challenges they will face. Based on the interviews, I developed a holistic model of leadership that serves as the framework for the book I am writing. I am passionate about sharing what I have learned with others through writing, speaking, and developing seminars.

While I customize my leadership development seminars for each organization based on their needs, the themes I integrate into my work include helping leaders at all levels realize:

  • Leadership is about who you are more than it is about what you do.
  • Leadership is an evolving process of becoming a more effective leader because the environment and situation changes.
  • Leadership is about relationships and trust is the key ingredient. Without trust, it does not matter much what you say or do.
  • You are not an effective leader if others do not want to follow you.
  • You need to understand the dark side of the ego in order to be effective.
  • Leaders need to be held accountable and reward systems need to be structured for creating a place where people want to work.
  • Leaders need to know when to follow and how to be a good follower.

If organizations are going to develop, people must develop. For me, leadership is about becoming the best person you can be or learning to live your best life. If I can help facilitate organizational and individual development, please contact me. I would enjoy hearing from you.

Becoming a Sage

How do you prepare yourself for meaning in the next stage of your life? How do you find personal fulfillment as you transition from your career to a later stage in life? How do you live your life with purpose?

As baby boomers turn 60, it is time to retire retirement and find a new model for living the next phase of life. It is better to plan for this sooner, rather than later. The time to review, reflect, and renew is now. If you are between the ages of 40 and 60, Becoming a Sage may be ideal for you.

This group retreat is designed to help you rebalance your future plans and position yourself for a life that is rich and fulfilling. Participants will develop a roadmap based on an assessment and reflection of their own experiences. Your life plan will integrate your time, talents, and heart so that you are on your way to becoming a sage.

At Becoming a Sage, you will:

  • Explore your life purpose.
  • Understand the phases of life and the transitions involved.
  • Learn to deal effectively with change.
  • Enhance your self-insight for making future decisions.
  • Experience a sense of life renewal through personal growth and spiritual development.
  • Develop a personal vision for the future.
  • Discover a new model for the next phase of life.

This two-day retreat is based on a holistic model I have developed. It involves the mind, body, and spirit manifested through music, movement, and interaction. This will be an experiential retreat – highly interactive and engaging - a perfect time to get away from the world, quiet the mind, and follow the heart.
