As I have said before in my blog postings, you know sages when you are in their presence. Ron Schipper, our football coach of decades, was a sage. He was practicing servant leadership long before people were writing about it.
I thought of Coach Schipper when Penn State beat Ohio State in Ohio for the first time in decades. They played a beautiful tribute to Coach Paterno that reminded me of why it is important to honor and respect people who have the wisdom to share and the life experiences from which we all can learn.
