While my vocation is teaching, my passion is learning. Currently, my focus is on becoming the "Transitionist." Life renewal and life transitions--shifting the paradigm from aging to sage-ing-- make a difference for people at every stage of their life. I am interested in helping people transition from where they are now to where they might go to fulfill their dreams and passions; having the rest of their life be the best by creating their own destinies. Since the most important person to lead is ourself, I want to help myself and others have high-quality, meaningful lives for the rest of our lives. Our life span is longer, but are we living longer to taking longer to die? Are we living life on purpose and with passion?
Leading is about learning to live our best life. When we do this, others will want to follow us and we will want to follow others--in a spirit of learning, growing, and improving. Sage-ing is another word for positive aging or consciously aging. It is based on synthesizing wisdom from life experiences in order to pass on a legacy to those who follow.
My Holistic Model of Leading and Sage-ing drives my thinking and my writing. When you read my blog, you will find that I integrate aspects of leading with the various components of sage-ing. Most of the posts will fall into one of these categories:
- Self-Insight
- Authenticity
- Spirit
- Feeling
- Creating
- Connecting
- Renewing
- Evolving
- Gaining Wisdom
Lived well, life is a journey toward becoming a sage which means transforming experience into wisdom. It's about living fully, connecting, giving back, caring deeply, and staying involved. Please join me on the journey as you read and comment on my blog.
It is important to remember that organizations improve when people improve. So my purpose is to:
- Improve organizational effectiveness through individual development
- Improve individual effectiveness through organizational development
